Originally I wanted to call this blog Tigerwillys and Tarampalas but the title was too long.
When one of my daughters was little she pointed to a bumblebee buzzing around the Tiger Lilly plants and commented, “Know what queen bees do on their day off? They clean the Tigerwillys”.
Another daughter informed me that the pretty little grass spiders grow up to be Tarampalas; ergo Tigerwillys and Tarampalas in honor of their wisdom and playful delight.
Tigerwillys is meant to be a place for ideas, recipes, fun and adventure. I hope you enjoy!

Today I was thinking about people who are leaders.
The most effective leaders I have known have always been people who encourage, who are willing to let someone else shine, people who find great joy in the accomplishments of others. I’ve had a few “bosses” but one was a true leader. His passion was to see his managers succeed, he encouraged the heart, challenged the norm, he found so much happiness when one of this managers excelled.
Then my mind jumped to the words of Jesus regarding leadership…a true leader is the servant to all. I’ve always tried to encourage, teach and enrich my employees, to share what little wisdom I have and to allow them to lead. I think I was successful most of the time.
When you find someone who is good at what they do, you’ll know if they are a true leader by the joy they get from passing on their wisdom to you.
Just pondering how blessed I’ve been. I have 6 wonderful children, grandchildren, a nice home, good friends, a sound mind (though some may argue that point! LOL) life is good and God is great. There’s a verse in the bible that says: “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. “
1 Thessalonians 5:17-19 Another verse says: “pray without ceasing; 1 Thessalonians 5:17
I have learned that even the worst scenarios in my life have become wonderful moments, moments of learning, of growing and sometimes moments of awe and wonderment. Giving thanks and praying at all times isn’t that hard if you think of your life and actions as a prayer. Our conscious actions can be a ceaseless prayer and as we live a life filled with love and gratitude we seem to grow happier and more full of joy. Thank you God!
