Although I am Christian, I also subscribe to the tenets of many other religions. They all hold truths by which I can build my spirituality. The greatest source for me is the Bible, but the wisdom of the Dalai Lama, Mother Teresa, Li Po, and so many others broadens and widens my understanding. Through my journey, all the distilled wisdoms seem to come down to one concept – LOVE, followed by COMPASSION. Jesus said, Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. He also said, Love your neighbor as yourself. Compassion is one outward example of love. If we are to be spiritual people, then love must be our driving force. Love must show forth in our daily lives in how we think, how we vote, how we share our knowledge, how we treat our employees, how we treat our enemies. Love is the decision to reach for God and embrace the Creator’s nature.
